New CD & book published for Early Year Learning in Mandarin

Thanks to Susan Shu, Alina Jing, Jinbo Wang, Lijuan Su, their dedication and tireless hours of hardworking, every single student in our Early Year Learning program now has a new CD and a booklet.

To better support students’ learning, we always listen to our parents about the good and the bad and strive to continue improving the curriculum. We first developed the early year learning program couple of year ago with some supplementary hand-out to parents; later we developed a series of booklets. We have felt the need that parents need some audio support at home because many of them do not speak Mandarin at home. Teachers have been supportive to record songs and reading using mp3, but it is very time-consuming.

The staff has been working very hard to finish the project before the new school year. The series have two CDs, including a Jr. (3-4 yrs old) recorded 20 children songs and a Sr. (4-5 yrs old) recorded 24 children songs. Each CDs has two booklets, book 1 and book 2, including characters, sentences, and some exercises, such as “connecting the picture and word”, “tracing the characters”, coloring page and etc.

Parents have already given us much positive feedback about the new development and one parent went to me and said: “Thank you for listening to us. The best thing about Toronto Mandarin School is the school is constantly improving and trying to do better” It is very true.

We have set up our next goal - to develop a new series for our Parent & Tot program.
