The SMILE (Specialized Mandarin Intensive Language Education) program begins at the senior kindergarten level and continues through high school, following a systematic structure and more intensive pace of study. Students from all cultural and language backgrounds who can understand instructions in Mandarin are welcome.
The SMILE program stands out as an intensive Mandarin learning program compared to once-a-week classes. It provides both in-person and online learning options, with lessons scheduled two to three days a week. The program offers group classes, 1-on-1 private lessons, and 1-on-2 private lessons. Parents have the flexibility to customize the program by supplementing group classes with private lessons for additional learning time. Students can benefit from social interactions with peers in a group setting and receive more personalized attention in private lessons.
Standard language proficiency tests (YCT/HSK) will be administered by grade as part of the assessment for the school year.
To enhance your children’s Mandarin learning and help them to develop a lifelong love of reading, we partnered with “Leveled Mandarin Reading” program to all school-age students. This program allows students to get exposed to new Chinese characters, words and phrases used in different contexts while helping them to understand how and when to use them correctly. By encouraging students to read extensively, it further helps them to improve their ability to communicate effectively in Mandarin.
