Course Description

Stay engaged, learn and practice Mandarin from the comfort of your own home. Join us for our “Happy Mandarin” VIRTUAL summer camp this year! The camp is designed to be both academic and fun. It features small class sizes that provide tons of opportunities to practice Mandarin in class. We make learning Mandarin Chinese fun, easy and practical with various interactive activities and Chinese cultural explorations. Students will be placed in the right class according to their age and language level. All of the virtual classes will take place via Zoom. Let’s start this new adventure together!

Courses

  • Kinder Mandarin (4-5 yrs old)
    • • Learn new Mandarin words and phrases through a wide range of activities such as songs, stories, arts & crafts, math, nature and science to capture your child’s interests in learning Mandarin. 45 minutes learning everyday.
  • Chinese Phonics (5.5-7 yrs old)
    • • Master the Chinese phonetic (Hanyu Pinyin) system and improve your child’s Mandarin pronunciation and speaking skills. Students will start to read Chinese by learning the initials, finals, tones and their combination. 1.5 hours learning everyday.
  • Happy Mandarin Level I & II (5.5-12 yrs old)
    • • For students from non-Mandarin speaking families to focus on developing and improving their conversational skills through fun and interactive activities Students will learn and practice Chinese pronunciation, vocabulary, sentences, dialogues and grammar in real life situations. 1.5 hour learning everyday.
  • Chinese Reader Level I & II (6-12 yrs old)
    • • For students from Mandarin speaking families to strengthen their Mandarin reading and writing skills. We focus on expanding new vocabulary and advance their reading skills. Classes will be taught in full Mandarin to ensure the most exposure for the language. 1.5 hours learning everyday.

Placement Assessment

  • A FREE placement assessment will be offered to all new students to ensure they will be placed in the right level.

Trial Class

Payment

  • Full payment (tuition & registration fees) must be paid before the class starts.
  • $25 administrative charge will apply to each non-sufficient funds cheque.

Cancellation/Refund/Credit

  • Requests to cancel the camp registration must be received two weeks before the camp starts.
  • Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing; telephone requests will not be honored.
  • A $50 administration fee will be charged for each refund. If refund is recorded as school credit, administration will be waived.
  • No refund/credit will be granted for occasional absence and cancellation once the camp starts.
  • School credit is valid for 2 years and can be used for any programs within Toronto Mandarin School.

Make-up Class

  • No free makeup lesson is provided, but learning materials will be provided upon request.
